Never dump mattresses on the side of the road!

Drop them off at a landfill or dispose of them through a mattress recycling program. It’s expensive for public agencies to pick up illegally dumped mattresses and it wastes taxpayer dollars to do so.

The Billy Wright and Highway 59 Landfills accept up to ten (10) mattresses and/or box springs from Merced County residents and approved businesses for FREE. Please neatly stack each mattress or box spring in the designated mattress area under the carport to avoid a penalty.

Loads of more than ten mattresses/box springs will be charged $5 for each additional mattress/box spring.

Companies, contractors and other non-approved businesses are charged the regular fee of $5 per mattress.

(The RWA reserves the right to charge for mattresses not properly stacked or charge for disposal of mattresses that are heavily soiled or torn).
