Frequently Asked Questions

1. I'm bringing in a load of mixed trash.  How much will that cost?
Answer: The minimum rate that customers will pay for solid waste disposal is $19 or $43.05/ton.
Extra fees apply to mattresses ($5 each, no matter the size), tires ($3 p/passenger tire; $8 p/passenger tire with a rim; see Tire Rates for tires of difference sizes), and appliances ($10/appliance; $18/any refrigerated appliance like water dispensers, refrigerators or wall coolers).  To view our rates, please visit the Landfills page.

3. Which items are not accepted at the landfills?

Answer: Items not accepted at the landfills are materials such as asbestos, munitions, explosives and other harmful items. Treated lumber is not accepted at the Billy Wright Landfill but is accepted at the Highway 59 Landfill.  Some recyclable household hazardous waste (i.e. Antifreeze, used motor oil and filters, paint, batteries, and other items) are accepted at both landfills, but quantity limitations do apply.  Please visit our HHW page for more information.

Answer: Please visit our Landfills page for the addresses and maps of both landfills, as well as hours of operation.

5. How do I rent a dumpster or roll-off?

Answer: The landfills are the end facility for solid waste disposal, and we do not have rental equipment or trucks.  To find out who may haul and offer bin/roll-off rentals, please view the "Refuse Disposal Contact Information" for a map of haulers by location, or view the Commercial Recycling Guide for haulers of different material types.

6. My trash wasn't picked up / I have a question about my trash bill / I'd like to report a pick up service issue.
Answer: The landfills are separate from the service providers of trash, recycling and green can service.  To locate the number of your hauler, please see the Haulers Map with Contact Information or see the numbers below:
